Scientific research service platform: It is urgent for China to strengthen the localization of biological reagents

market-oriented third-party scientific research service platform CASMART latest statistics show that some Chinese scientific research institutions rely heavily on imports of high-end biological reagents, its import brand transactions accounted for 79%. Biological reagents are the key basic materials of scientific research, and it is urgent for China to strengthen the construction of localization of biological reagents for scientific research.
Since the launch of the
Kasma platform in 2013, a total of 2,052 scientific research, education and industrial institutions have traded on the platform, with a cumulative turnover of 7.8 billion yuan (RMB, the same as between 2020), accounting for 83% of the 38% of bioreagement transactions in

The platform data show that China's imports of biological reagents accounted for the top five countries are the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan and Switzerland, respectively, accounted for 62%, 19%, 6%, 6% and 3%, and the platform biological reagents trading volume TOP10 brand also from these five countries.
Kasma platform statistics also show that if the biological reagents according to 1000 yuan or less, 1000-10000 yuan, more than 10000 yuan price gradient division, its transaction volume is 3:6:1, high-end reagents are the main market for biological reagents trading. From the distribution pattern, China's current import reagents are 81% distributed in the middle and high-end market, 19% in the low-end market, domestic reagents only 53% distributed in the middle and high-end market, low-end market distribution of 47%, there is a large space for research and development.
Honglin, general manager of Kasma (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., believes that in order to avoid the subject of biological research work, it is imperative for China to strengthen the localization of biological reagents and the construction of national brands. He suggested that we should focus on three aspects: first, building the basic conditions of industrial innovation, complementing the policy short board and increasing the expenditure on innovation and research and development; Vitality, improve the gluten-free policy of bioreagement research and development enterprises, and promote the nucleic acid purification, PCR (polymerase chain reaction), protein, antibodies and other sub-sectors have the potential to replace imported reagents of domestic brands first "going out" to get rid of import dependence.
