    Academician Tian Zhigang, Professor Peng Hui, and Professor Sun X of the University of Science and Technology of China collaborated with the team of Professor Eric Vivier from the University of Marseille in France to discover the differentiation of adult hematopoietic precursor cells into type 1 natural lymphocytes (liver-resident NK cells) for the first time Potential and regulatory mechanism, revealing the new path of natural lymphocyte development outside the bone marrow, provide an important theoretical basis for explaining the formation of the liver's natural immune dominant state.


    It is generally believed that the bone marrow is the main hematopoietic organ after birth, and the renewal and replenishment of immune cells depends on bone marrow hematopoiesis.


    The research group compared fetal liver, adult liver, bone marrow and peripheral blood hematopoietic precursor cells and found that there are a group of LSM cells similar to fetal liver hematopoietic stem cells in adult mouse liver.


    The research group also found that the interferon-γ secreted by mature type 1 natural lymphocytes can promote the expansion of LSM cells in the liver and differentiate into type 1 natural lymphocytes.


    This study found for the first time that adult livers have hematopoietic precursor cells derived from fetal liver, which have the potential to develop into type 1 natural lymphocytes, and this process is positively regulated by interferon-γ signals.
