    Scotland's largest offshore wind farm completes onshore wiring

    Scotland's largest offshore wind farm has passed another important milestone with the successful installation of 19km of onshore cable
    on each of the three power circuits from Carnoustie's landfall to the new substation currently under construction at Tealing, near Dundee.

    Steven Reid, Seagreen's onshore project manager, said: "This is a huge feat of engineering, including the installation of 117 separate cables along the route, involving crossing the East Coast Main Line, A90 and A92, and minimising the impact on the
    Carnoustie and Panmure golf courses.

    "This is a key activity of the Seagreen project in preparation for the first electricity exports this summer, and we are now in the final stages of restoring and replanting the land affected by the cable route, which will continue until the end of the
    year.
    " With the support of our contractors Nexans and Linxon, we are also donating some cable reels to local schools in Carnoustie, Murroes and Tealing, which will be used
    on each school's playground.

    Carnoustie's landing was completed earlier this year, and since then, the project has also successfully completed the second of three cable tractions at the time of landing to support the connection
    of offshore cables to onshore cables.

    The Seagreen wind farm, a joint venture between SSE Renewables and Total Energies, is currently under construction
    approximately 27km from the Angus coastline.

    Once operational, the site will be Scotland's largest and deepest fixed-bottom offshore wind farm in the world, providing enough clean electricity
    for around two-thirds of homes in Scotland.
