The purpose !---- of this study is to determine whether patients with hypercytocytic arteritis (GCA) and extracranial large blood vessel (LVV)-GCA phenotype patients with typical ischemic manifestations have different HLA-DRB1 associations.study recruited 178 patients with cerebral ischemia but no LVV performance and biopsy confirmed by biopsy, 100 lvV-GCA patients with cerebral ischemia, and 486 race-matched healthy controls.all patients and controls are Of European descent.compared the frequency of HLA-DRB1 profiles between the three groups. There were significant differences in the clinical characteristics of the two GCA subgroups in.patients with LVV-GCA are younger than the classic cranial GCA phenotype (68.0 x 10.0 years vs 74.0 x 10.4 years; p-lt;0.01), and rheumatoid polymyalgia symptoms are more common (81% vs 39.3% ;p .01).,GCAHLA-DRB1*04(42.1%vs 23.5%;p<0.01;OR[95%-CI]=2.38[1.62-3.47])。this association is mainly due to the HLA-DRB1 x 04:01 allele (20.8% vs 5.3% ;p.lt;0.01; OR (95% CI) s.64 (2.63-8.26), respectively).also observed hlA-DRB1 x 04 associations in LVV-GCA patients (46.0%vs 23.5% ;p,01; OR (95% CI) , 2.78 , 1.73-4.44, respectively. Similarto cranial GCA, the association is also attributed mainly to hlA-DRB1 x 04:01 allele (19.0% vs 5.3% ;p ,lt;0.01; OR (95% CI) s 4.15 (2.06-8.19), respectively).cranial and LVV-GCA patients did not show differences in HLA-DRB1 allele.cranial and extracranial LVV-GCA have similar HLA-DRB1 associations..
