    Recently, Professor Deng Zixin's team from the School of Life Science and Technology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism jointly published a research paper entitled "Radical SAM-dependent ether crosslink in daropeptide biosynthesis" in "Nature Communications", revealing the super antibiotic darobactin for the first time.


    Gram-negative bacteria are resistant to most antibiotics due to their special capsular structure


    Through further detailed research, the authors confirmed that DarE inserts the oxygen atom of water molecule between two tryptophans through a novel SAM free radical enzyme mechanism to form its key ether bond crosslink
