: Recently, Sika acquired australia tile adhesive Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CTA). CTA is one of Australia's leading suppliers of tile adhesives and related mortar products, currently employs 51 people and had sales of CHF 22 million (approximately US$22.86 million) in 2014. CTA will also be Sika's 79th production facility worldwide.
the past 2 years, CTA has grown rapidly to become a core supplier of tile adhesives and related mortar product solutions. The acquisition will further expand Sika's mortar business. Sika's mortar business grew by 31% in 2014, making it the fastest growing product and one of the core products of the 2018 strategy.
acquisition of CTA, Sika will continue to expand its manufacturing sector, leveraging the core technology of powder/mortar to become a leading supplier of surface treatment, adhesive and waterproofing for Australian tiles. In addition, the products covered by CTA will add new products to Sika's existing and future distribution channels, providing an opportunity for cross-product sales.
CTA's products in New Zealand will be directly into Sika (New Zealand) and Managing Director Troy Hogan and other core members of the CTA team will remain with Sika.
