, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's National Defense Science and Technology Research Institute and the Singapore Science and Technology Research Agency have jointly developed a new test kit for coronavirus, local media reported. The kit could reduce the time it takes to test for the country's new coronavirus from about four hours today to less than two hours.
singapore currently uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR) detection technology, the entire process may take about 4 hours,
and other websites reported on the 18th. Using a new kit omits the processing of samples to extract viral KERNs, and simply adding the samples to a special premixed solution can be analyzed using a PCR instrument, with the results expected to be available in 60 to 90 minutes.
reported that the new test kit can save materials, manpower and time, and can be done by entry-level technicians using basic laboratory equipment, while the testing process is also more secure.
