Japanese telecommunications giant NTT has announced plans to build a submarine cable network to connect Singapore with India (Chennai and Mumbai) and Myanmar

According to reports, the submarine cable system named "MIST" will be designed using 400Gbps DWDM technology, with a total design capacity of 240Tbps and a total length of 11,000 kilometers

The construction of the MIST submarine cable system will be handled by NTT's international submarine cable strategic joint venture in Southeast Asia, known as Orient Link

NTT holds a 42 percent stake in the venture, Japan's ICT Fund holds 38 percent and Singapore's Wen Capital holds the remaining 20 percent
