On July 29, 2021, when inspecting the business premises, insect pests such as cockroaches, drainage flies and a dead rodent were observed

The business premises were also found to be poorly maintained
.

For the sake of public health, SFA instructs licensees to correct mistakes and take necessary measures to improve the cleanliness of their premises

As a precautionary measure, SFA has instructed manufacturers to recall tofu delivered to various farmers’ markets on July 29, 2021

The Singapore Food Authority stated that all food operators should ensure that their business premises are clean and well maintained, and that their staff have received appropriate food safety management training

SFA will take enforcement actions against food operators who do not comply with regulations or do not comply with food hygiene and food safety requirements

Once convicted, offenders can be fined up to $10,000, or imprisoned for up to one year, or both
