    On April 18, Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Company announced that the company cooperated with Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute to realize the first industrial application of metallocene polyethylene (PE) catalyst developed by its own technology, producing high performance Metallocene polyethylene products provide reliable technical support for the industrial scale-up of catalysts


    Under the unified arrangement and support of the Science and Technology Department of Sinopec Group Corporation, starting from 2020, Yangzi Petrochemical and Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry have jointly developed metallocene polyethylene catalysts


    On the basis of a lot of previous work, the team formulated an adaptive transformation plan for the existing catalyst preparation test device (SPC test device) of Yangzi Petrochemical


    In order to ensure the industrial application results of catalysts, starting from January 2022, Yangzi Petrochemical will conduct polymerization evaluation and target product development of self-made metallocene polyethylene catalysts based on the realization of catalyst batch preparation and relying on Yangzi Petrochemical gas-phase polyethylene pilot plant.


    Through continuous pilot-scale polymerization tests, Yangzi Petrochemical has produced batches of metallocene pipe products


    The successful development and industrial application of metallocene polyethylene catalysts has strongly promoted the localization process of metallocene polyethylene catalysts, optimized the catalyst synthesis process, improved the preparation conditions, implemented the industrialized production of catalysts, industrial applications of catalysts, and developed high-end metallocene products for the follow-up.
