According to the news from Axunsi Singapore on August 24, six Japanese companies, including petrochemical producer Idemitsu Kosan, will start a power conversion to chemicals (P2C) demonstration project in September.
The six companies include Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions Corporation, Toyo Engineering Corporation, Toshiba Corporation, Japan CCS Corporation and All Nippon Airways
The financial details of the project were not disclosed
The six companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday: "The P2C plant in this study will use artificial photosynthesis technology to convert the carbon dioxide separated and collected from exhaust gas resources into CO.
They said: “P2C can effectively use renewable electricity and hydrogen from renewable energy sources without exploiting new fossil resources.
According to this plan, Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions will build a carbon dioxide (CO₂) electrolysis device and conduct a demonstration operation of the device in the Hamasaki business unit in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture
They said: "Through this demonstration project, these six companies will contribute to the commercialization of a sustainable aviation fuel supply chain based on the carbon cycle and regional revitalization
