LS Cable, a major South Korean cable maker, has secured a deal worth 100 billion won ($84 million) to build a new submarine cable system as part of
Bahrain's project to develop the desert island islands into a major tourist destination.

LS Cable said on Tuesday it had secured an order from Saudi Arabian company Al Gihaz, a Saudi company involved in the project, to supply submarine cables to supply
power from Bahrain's main islands to the Hawar archipelago.
According to the plan, the construction of this submarine cable will be completed
    in September 2021.

    The Hyvar Islands are home
    to many bird species.
The 25-kilometre-long cable project aims to connect Khaiwar to Bahrain's permanent power grid
    .

In October 2018, LS Cable was awarded a $125 million contract to install high-voltage cables
    for Bahrain's transmission network.
Bahrain will continue to upgrade its energy infrastructure with a new high-voltage transmission network to strengthen its power
    supply for industrial growth.
