South Korea's seafood imports in January this year increased by 3% year-on-year

According to SeafoodMedia’s news on February 8, South Korea imported 98,158 tons of seafood in January 2022 , an increase of 3% from 95,292 tons in the same period in 2021
.
Among the imported seafood, the top ten products are frozen cod , frozen saury , frozen mackerel, frozen squid , frozen sardines , frozen monkfish, frozen baby octopus , fresh salmon , frozen squid , and live clams
.

Compared with January 2021, imports of mackerel, salmon, clams and frozen cod this year are all lower than the same period last year, while imports of frozen saury and sardines have increased significantly
.

The import volume of frozen saury was 11,188 tons, a year-on-year increase of 218%, and the import volume of fresh salmon was 2,229 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 56%
