    On November 24, the Sri Lankan government announced that the country officially lifted the import ban on agrochemicals on the same day as farmers protested against the sharp increase in the prices of agricultural products such as vegetables and rice

    From April 26 this year, Sri Lanka officially banned the import of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, with a view to becoming the first country in the world to fully implement organic agriculture


    In October, due to insufficient organic fertilizers, both the quality and yield of tea declined
