    Treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains difficult because of high genetic heterogeneity not only between patients, but also between subclonal populations of cancer cells within the same individual


    PDK1: a determinant in different metabolic states


    In this study, PDK1 was identified as a determinant in different metabolic states


    The team applied metabolomic, proteomic, genomic and transcriptomic techniques, as well as techniques such as Gene Ontology (GO) and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA)


    This result also suggests that inhibition of PDK1 induces mitochondrial stress and improves the efficiency of antitumor therapy based on inhibitors of glutaminase, an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of glutamate in glutamate and ammonia
