On September 15th , Sumitomo Chemical announced that it would set up Zhuhai Sumika Composite Plastics Co.

PP composite materials are high-performance materials that improve impact resistance and rigidity by mixing polypropylene with elastomers, glass fibers and inorganic fillers.

In this context, Sumitomo Chemical established a new production and sales base in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in October 2016.
The plant is currently undergoing trial production and customer evaluation.
Following the Chengdu plant, Sumitomo Chemical established a Wuxi plant in the fast-growing Central China region.
