Singapore-based solar development company Sunseap Group said it is developing the world's largest offshore floating photovoltaic (OFPV) system, a 5MW pilot system
of seawater off the Straits of Johor.

Located north of Woodlands Waterfront Park, the project is expected to generate approximately 6,388 megawatt-hours of renewable energy per year, equivalent to powering
    1,250 four-room apartments once completed.
With support from Singapore's Economic Development Board (EDB), Woodlands' 5-hectare OFPV pilot is expected to be commercially operational
    early next year.

According to a recent World Bank report, most of the world's floating solar power plants have been built on freshwater ponds, lakes or reservoirs to date, recently exceeding 1.
1GW of global capacity and having a global potential
    of 400GW.

The Co-Founder and CEO of Sunseap Group said, "Sunseap is excited to embark on this landmark project that demonstrates Sunseap's engineering capabilities
    in research and development.
Our floating solar system supports Singapore's ambition to become a solar hub in Asia, and we hope it will ignite more alternative ways of solar mining
