Research firm Wood Mackenzie said global orders for wind turbines hit a record high of 31GW
in the second quarter of this year.
In terms of shipments, global wind turbine giant Vestas maintained its position
as the world's number one.
In terms of the second quarter, Vestas ranked first in the world with a total order volume of nearly 5.
7 GW, and China's Mingyang Smart Energy ranked second with 3.
9 GW
.
Siemens Gamesa is in third place with 3.
67 GW (see figure below).
Wood Mackenzie's analysis of global wind turbine orders shows that between April and June, global wind turbine order sizes increased by 111% year-on-year, 13GW
higher than the record level in Q4 2018.
The rush of Chinese developers to place orders before the end of the subsidy policy was the main factor
driving the surge.
The same situation has driven the record US market

Wood Mackenzie said the record Chinese market generated 17 GW of orders in the second quarter, including 3GW of offshore wind orders, continuing the industry's sharp upward trend

power and renewable energy research at Wood Mackenzie, said despite China's booming economy, Vestas maintained its global number one position, its best quarter

among wind turbine manufacturers in the world with 8.

several markets as demand was strong and larger, newer and more expensive wind turbine types were entering the market.
Lewandowski added, "Pricing in the U.

and China is higher due to strong demand as orders continue to provide preparation
for the 2020 installation program.
