The approval and registration of pesticides and the determination of residue tolerances in Taiwan are handled by the "Administrative Yuan Agriculture Committee" and the "Ministry of Health and Welfare" in accordance with their powers and responsibilities.
In addition to referring to international norms, they also consider the needs of domestic agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery and the public.

This revision is a joint collaboration between the “Food and Drug Administration” and the Animal and Plant Disease Prevention and Quarantine Bureau of the “Executive Yuan Agriculture Committee” to continuously increase and revise the domestic pesticide approved items, use objects, methods and residue regulations, and refer to international standards.
Based on the risk assessment principles, the residue tolerances of 6 pesticides such as abatin in 40 crops/categories have been revised, and the epiphany in spice plants and other plants and woody plants have been revised in order to protect the safety of consumers’ diets.
