The project will serve multiple submarine cables and many users
in Southern California.

The project, which is scheduled to begin in five days, will use horizontal directional drilling to install borehole pipes for shore landing, as such operations have minimal
environmental impact on beach and tidal areas.

Chris Carobene, Vice President of Marine Services at TE SubCom, said: "The commencement of construction of these bored pipes is an important milestone
for us.
This project will allow the gateway to obtain greater information capacity and greatly improve speed
