According to the results of the pilot test, the design parameters of the worm reactor of the Leeuwarden municipal sewage plant in the Netherlands with a daily treatment scale of about 8500m 3 /d (population equivalent of 35,000) are shown in Table 9-11
.
The sludge reduction process and subsequent sludge treatment process are shown in Figure 9-14
Table 9-11 Design parameters of worm reactor
Figure 9-14 Process treatment process of Leeuwarden municipal sewage plant in the Netherlands (the figures in parentheses are before sludge reduction)
The daily output of sludge (TSS) is 1600kg.
After worm reduction, it is 1200kg, which is a 25% reduction.
The most important thing is that the volume of concentrated sludge is reduced by 62%
After the insect feces are concentrated, anaerobic digestion is performed uniformly
.
Since the organic components in insect feces and their metabolic rate are low, methane production is reduced by about half
The worm TSS digestibility and worm density (reflecting the sludge digestibility per unit area of the reactor) are closely related to the nature of the sludge, and different types of sludge are even different.
