The Thai National News reported on March 20 that the Thai Feed Processors Association sent a letter to the government requesting a ban on the export of corn and soybean meal .
The association said that due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Hungary, Egypt, Indonesia, Argentina and other countries have successively stopped exporting corn and soybean meal to ensure their domestic supply .
Thailand needs to import 95% of soybean meal for feed.
If the government also allows exports, there will be a shortage of raw materials for domestic feed, and prices will continue to rise .
Last year, Thailand exported a total of 94,000 tonnes of corn and 103,000 tonnes of soybean meal, according to figures provided by the association .
