    Thailand's new regulations to strengthen control of imported salt take effect in September

    According to a report by the Thai World Daily on July 14, the Director of the Department of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Commerce Gilady revealed that the Ministry of Commerce adjusted the formulation of import salt regulations.
    On July 6, 2021, the Government Gazette website issued a notice stating that salt should be used as a certification document.
    Products must comply with the country’s 2021 import rules and regulations.
    Before importing, the importer must register as a salt importer with the Department of Internal Trade (registration website https://bit.

    The importer must have a certificate of origin (C/ O), or to the Customs issued by exporting prove government units provided

    This announcement will come into effect on September 4, 2021

    The introduction of the above-mentioned rules and regulations is to comply with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Zhu Lin's request for the Department of Internal Trade to solve the difficulties faced by Thai salt farmers.
    Therefore, salt importers are requested to prepare in advance to comply with the new rules and regulations

    Currently, an electronic declaration system is being developed to provide importers with convenience in importing, holding and using declarations
    .
