Since 2012, the new catalytic materials and new process research group of Dalian Institute of Chemical Technology has begun to develop heavy oil suspension bed hydrogenation technology, and developed innovative hydrogenation processes, core reactors and low accumulation degree nano-molybdenum sulfide catalysts to complete the suspension Test of ton-level equipment in bed laboratory and scale-up production of catalyst industry

After intensive construction and commissioning, on September 28, the heavy oil suspension bed hydrogenation 1,000-ton level unit was officially put into operation using ethylene tar reconstituted components as raw materials; on November 1, the unit opened up the entire process to produce hydrogenated naphtha, Diesel and wax oil

The research work was supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ strategic pilot technology project "Key Technologies and Demonstration of Clean and Efficient Cascade Utilization of Low-Rank Coal", the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Key R&D Program, Karamay Municipal Government, Dushanzi District Government, China Huanqiu Engineering Co.
