    The 2016 China-Korea Phytonutrients International Symposium, co-sponsored by the Chinese Nutrition Society and the Korean Food Science Association, was held in Seoul, South Korea, on October 27, 2016 and was supported by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Wang Zhixuan, Executive Director of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Wang Zhu, Secretary of the Nutrition and Health Food Branch, Wang Xin, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Nutrition and Health Food Association Guo Haifeng and six others attended the meeting.conference, nine authoritative experts presented the latest research results on phytonutrrits to nearly 200 participants. Researcher Wang Zhu highlighted the assessment of health evidence on cereals, which is an important part of the newly released Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents 2016. Professor Wang introduced the important role of carotenoids Chinese vitamin A nutritional status of these groups. Officials from South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety participated in expert discussions on the management of food raw materials for health functions. In addition, experts from Japan, Thailand and other countries introduced the application of mushrooms, Branhmi and other health care products research, experts from the United States and South Korea also introduced the health care products in the management system of functional raw materials and related responsibilities. During this period, the Chinese Nutrition Society presented the English version of the 2016 Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents to the Korean Food Science Association as a gift. The day before, Chinese experts and their counterparts from South Korea and Thailand shared new regulatory developments in their respective countries.
