The 3rd National Congress on Iodine and Thyroid Disease was held today.

The National Congress on Iodine and Thyroid Disease has been held every two years since 2014. The theme of the first National Iodine and Thyroid Disease Conference, held in Beijing in 2014, was "China's Iodine Deficiency Disease Strategy Seminar" and the second National Iodine and Thyroid Disease Conference was held in Harbin in 2016 on the theme of inheriting, reforming and sustaining the elimination of iodine deficiency disease. After exchanges and discussions, the two sessions formed an expert consensus and proposed the next steps to promote the sustained consolidation of iodine deficiency disease prevention and treatment results. The 3rd National Conference on Iodine and Thyroid Disease, held in Shenzhen from October 26-27, 2018, was organized by the Chinese Nutrition Society, the Local Disease Credit Association of the Chinese Medical Association and the Endocrine Credit Association of the Chinese Medical Association; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Nutrition and Health Institute, China Center for Disease Control and Prevention Local Disease Control Center, Shenzhen Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Center, Shenzhen Society for Preventive Medicine, Shenzhen Institute of Nutrition; The theme of this conference is "New Era Science Iodine Supplement".
