The 4th International Sugar Industry Conference was successfully held in Morocco

Moroccan media reported on March 22 that the 4th International Sugar Industry Conference was successfully held.
The conference was jointly organized by the Moroccan Sugar Professional Association (APS) and the International Sugar Organization.
More than 430 experts from various countries participated in the conference.

The meeting also introduced Morocco's new "green generation" strategy (2020-2030), and the progress made by the Moroccan sugar industry in improving agricultural and industrial competitiveness and digital sugar production.
The meeting pointed out that the new crown epidemic has had a major impact on world sugar consumption.
Up to now, it has decreased by 800,000 tons year-on-year.
It is estimated that the world sugar production will drop by about 2 million tons from 2020 to 2021, with a gap of 4.
8 million tons.

 

　　The sugar industry occupies an important position in the agricultural sector in Morocco.
There are five major sugar producing areas in the country.
The industry provides fixed income for nearly 80,000 farmers, created more than 5,000 jobs, and established more than 1,200 agricultural service companies and self-employed enterprises.
