The adjustment of fertilizer tariffs to accelerate the integration of market-oriented industries is still difficult

On December 23 this year, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council of China issued the "2017 Tariff Adjustment Plan", which will be implemented on January 1 next year.
The "Plan" will make significant adjustments to the export tariffs on fertilizers and related products, such as the abolition of urea and phosphoric acid.
Tentative tariffs on exports of diammonium and other products have been set to reduce export tariffs on compound fertilizers.
In order to study the impact of the above policy adjustments on the fertilizer industry, the Economic and Trade Department of the China Development and Reform Commission invited some fertilizer production and distribution companies and related industry associations to exchange views on the issue.
Relevant companies and associations stated that the adjustment of fertilizer export tariffs reflects the determination of the Chinese government to accelerate the marketization of fertilizer products and create a fairer export environment, which is conducive to enhancing the competitiveness of China's fertilizer products in the international market.
At the same time, the tasks of accelerating the integration of the fertilizer industry and resolving the contradiction of overcapacity are still difficult.
The primary task of fertilizer production and operation enterprises is to strive to improve their comprehensive competitiveness.
