    Recently, the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (ADB) has approved US$1.
    5 million from the African Sustainable Energy Facility (SEFA) to support the Government of Nigeria in implementing the Jigawa 1GW Independent Power Producer (IPP) Solar Procurement Program
    .

    It is understood that this approved SEFA grant will support the completion of outstanding technical and feasibility studies and the development of master plans
    for the entire program site.

    Based on the results of the technical and feasibility studies, the World Bank will provide additional support to governments by financing transaction advisers to design and launch competitive IPP procurement
    .

    In addition, the Nigerian government has committed to reducing the risk
    of the project by providing land and shared facilities, including transmission facilities.
