Original title: ANZ approved a wood polyglycase as a processing aid
According to ANZ Food Standards Agency, July 7 ANZ Food Standards Agency issued circular 17-17, approved a wood polyglycase as a processing aid for cereal food production.
it is understood that on 23 January 2017, Puratos NV submitted an application for beta (1,4) amyglycerase to be used as an endolytic enzyme in the production of cereal products and to submit a corresponding draft.
glycosinase is produced by genetically modified Bacillus spores. It catalytics the conversion of amugys into arabic oligosaccharides, improving the functional properties of these polysaccharides, resulting in better and/or more stable product quality, which can be used in baked goods such as bread, biscuits, cakes, as well as cereal products such as pasta, noodles, snacks, etc. Genetically modified strains of Bacillus spores contain the gene mlycosease produced by haloplanktis, a genus of false alternating monocytobacteria.
ANZ Food Standards Agency (FSANZ) concluded after a risk assessment that the use of beta (1,4) xylosin as a food processing aid in the production of endoenzymes in cereal products did not produce public health and safety concerns and was easily digested like other dietary proteins, even if it was most likely a denatured protein form residue in end foods.
an ANZ Food Standards Agency also believes that the daily allowable intake (ADI) of this glycosin may not be established because there is no identifiable risk. (Enron)
