GlobeNet, a leading telecommunications infrastructure provider in the Americas, announced the deployment of a new submarine cable system connecting Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo to Buenos Aires, covering a total length of approximately 2,500 kilometers

This new infrastructure will connect Argentina with Brazil's GlobeNet network, effectively connecting South America to the U.

With infrastructure already deployed in Bermuda, Brazil, Colombia, the United States and Venezuela, GlobeNet's latest expansion plans will attract more OTT, cloud provider and carrier customers seeking to boost their presence
across the region.
"Our submarine cable program, designed to meet low-latency and high-capacity needs, will be the first new route of direct connectivity from Argentina to Brazil and the United States since 2001," said

of its network infrastructure.
The company recently announced the construction of a new Level 4 data center in Barranquilla, Colombia, and the provision of a new Central Interconnection Point (IPX) for the Brazilian Network Information Center (NIC.
br) at the GlobeNet Internet Exchange Point in Fortaleza, Brazil, the infrastructure of the National Internet in the northern and northeastern regions of Brazil

According to reports, the new submarine cable system will use the latest technology and design to achieve the best building configuration

It will connect the GlobeNet landing station in Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo via a landing site in Praia Grande and to Buenos Aires
via a landing site in Las Toninas, a coastal town southeast of the Argentine capital.
The new cable system will be commissioned
in the first half of 2020.
