    public nutrition policies, about 45
    of the world's under-five deaths are related to malnutrition. Malnutrition, on the other hand, is mostly linked to poverty. Every year, 3.1 million children die every day from malnutrition. If such children do not pay attention to and help, even if they survive, they will suffer from stunted growth due to malnutrition, poor academic performance and poor intellectual performance as adults, thus directly affecting their intelligence and ability to work and fall into poverty. In order to improve malnutrition among children under 2 years of age in rural areas of China, Professor Chen Chunming initiated a study on bean powder-based dietary supplements (nutrition kits) in five poor counties in Gansu Province in 2001. The results of the six-year follow-up showed that infants and young children aged 6-24 months were supplemented with one pack of nutrients per day, which not only improved physical development and reduced anemia rate, but also helped to develop intellectually until the age of 8-9. Nutrition kits have been continuously expanded for pilot and application in earthquake-stricken areas and have been translated into government policies. The central government has increased the scope and funding of free nutrition packages for poor rural children year by year, reaching 500 million yuan by 2014 and providing nutrition packages free of charge to all children between the age of 6 and 24 months in 300 poor counties.
    Another problem is obesity, and Professor Chen Chunming is keenly aware of this special "key" to preventing chronic diseases, and she first led the preparation of the Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Overweight and Obesity among School-age Children in China, which was later released by the CDC of the former Ministry of Health. Adult obesity criteria are also published in a timely manner.

She participated in many academic consulting activities during her time as president, but always declined to receive labor fees;
    After the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, 83-year-old Professor Chen Chunming, despite the obstruction of colleagues' leadership, personally went to the disaster area to inspect the situation and the nutritional status of children, in the bumpy and rugged mountain road, in tents, together with the expert group, to discuss the nutritional security of children in the disaster area, discuss first aid measures in the disaster situation, see this situation of local counterparts, moved.
    Chen actively promotes the improvement of infant and young child malnutrition in poor areas, actively raises funds and solutions to catch up with growth problems during critical periods of child development. At her initiative, the micronutrient "nutrition package" project was carried out and implemented, and she continued to be personally involved in the work, with first-hand information, to effectively control the rate of malnutrition and anaemia among children in poor areas. On this basis, UNICEF in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, eight earthquake-stricken areas free distribution of nutrition kits, for the post-disaster infant and young children undernourishment control has played a great role. In 2017, she received the Song Qingling Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award in Pediatric Medicine.
    Professor Chen Chunming has been studying, researching and working for decades for the sake of her career development, and in the 30 years since she retired after the age of 60, she has continued her career to the countryside, going abroad, meeting and writing.
    Chen Chunming is a pioneer of science and innovation because of his talent and courage to explore. In her early years, she pioneered China's "first" research projects, actively expanded the development of disciplines, established academic organizations at all levels, declared doctoral places in the Academy of Preventive Medicine, etc., and in 1993, under the initiative and leadership of Professor Chen Chunming, established a non- government academic institution with an international background: "International Life Sciences Society China Office (ILSI China Office)". For more than 20 years, ILSI has won a good reputation by organizing hundreds of international academic exchanges on nutrition and food safety in China. She has been named an outstanding Communist Party member many times and has won many honorary titles. On September 11, 2012, the National Advanced Retired Cadres Party Branch and Retired Cadres Advanced Personal Recognition Conference was held in Beijing, attended by Xi Jinping, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Vice President of the State Council.
