    Recently, Bai Ming's research group of Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Guojie's team of Zhejiang University, together with Shenzhen BGI Life Sciences Research Institute, Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Copenhagen and other research groups at home and abroad, announced the species of marsupial mammals.

    The evolution of species traits is considered to be the result of long-term adaptation of species to the environment: mutations generate new genes and new traits, new genes are spread through reproduction, and traits and genes that are beneficial to survival and reproduction will be retained by natural selection


    Furthermore, in recent years, advances in sequencing technologies have brought genomics research into a new era of perfect reference genomes


      The result has been published online on April 20, 2022 in a paper titled "Incomplete lineage sorting and phenotypic evolution in marsupials" in the top international academic journal "Cell".
