The fiber optic network interconnection between the two countries is part of the second phase of the backbone project, which aims to promote fiber optic interconnection
in the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) through fiber optics.
At present, Congo (Brazzaville) has established optical fiber connections
with Gabon and Cameroon.
