    RenewableUK said on Tuesday that the cumulative installed capacity of global offshore wind projects currently under construction or under development reached 104.

    The global offshore wind portfolio has grown by more than 10% since June 2017, when it was estimated at 95 GW
    .

    According to data provided by RenewableUK at the Global Offshore Wind 2018 conference in Manchester, the UK remains the world's largest offshore wind market, with a total generation capacity of 35.

    It is followed by Germany with 23.
    4 GW, Taiwan with 8.
    3 GW, Chinese mainland 7.
    7 GW, and the United States with 7.

    The top five countries and regions together account for nearly 80%
    of the global market.

    Taiwan has made a huge leap in the past 12 months, expanding its portfolio by 6.
    7GW, accounting for 68% of global growth, and becoming the third largest market
    in the world.

    RenewableUK also said the figures do not include the nearly 3 GW of wind farm expansion plans recently announced by Crown Estate in the UK, which could further strengthen the country's leadership when confirmed next summer

    In terms of owner share, Ørsted A/S (formerly Denmark East Energy) accounts for 14% of the global portfolio, Vattenfall AB for 8%, Iberdrola SA for 6%, and SSE Plc, Windreich, Innogy SE and Equinor ASA each account for 4%.
