During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, my country's petroleum and chemical industries will enter an era of major transformation and major reconstruction full of opportunities and challenges, and a development mode that is different from the previous development period.

On April 28-29, the 2021 Petrochemical Industry Development Conference was held in Qinzhou, Guangxi.

According to Li Shousheng’s analysis, the "14th Five-Year Plan" industry is showing signs of five new situations; for example, the strategic transformation of the energy industry is whizzing; the structural restructuring of the chemical industry is imminent; the low-carbon and green development mode will be "butterfly change.

In this regard, Li Shousheng said that based on the overall judgment and prediction of the situation during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and the actual development of the industry, the Petrochemical Federation has formulated the "14th Five-Year Plan" industry development planning guide and adopted specific strategic measures in six aspects.

Yu Wei, deputy director of the Department of Raw Materials Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, on the one hand, the domestic ultra-large-scale market provides a broad space for the development of the petrochemical and chemical industry.

Dai Fei, Director of the Petrochemical Division of the Industrial Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the petrochemical industry will have both opportunities and challenges.

At the meeting, Sun Weishan, vice chairman of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, issued the "14th Five-Year" Development Guide for the Petroleum and Chemical Industry.

The meeting also released the petrochemical industry’s “14th Five-Year” technological innovation, new chemical materials, modern coal chemical industry, chemical park development plans, and the fine chemical industry’s “14th Five-Year” development trends and key points; and held carbon peaks and carbon neutrals.

Participants said that the content of the meeting is highly in line with the national development strategy and the development needs of the local petrochemical industry, and has become a vane leading the high-quality development of the petroleum and chemical industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan.
