Understanding the distribution pattern and regional construction process of soil bacterial communities is an important subject in ecological research.
previous studies have shown that soil pH is an important factor to determine the distribution of bacteria at the regional level, however, due to the distribution of grassland serifization in the southern grassland slops of China and the high heterogeneity of soil vegetation environment, the researchers have not fully understood the pattern and potential influence factors of bacterial communities in the region.
Yang Fan, a ph.d. student in soil ecology at Wuhan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, under the guidance of his mentor Cheng Xiaoli, selected 20 typical grassland community research areas in southern Hubei Province and Chongqing City to study the potential control factors and community structure of bacterial community composition and structure.
analysis of the 16S rRNA sequencing results showed that the bacterial community richness and diversity index were significantly positively correlated with the richness and diversity of vegetation communities.
both the classification differences of bacterial communities and the differences in systematic development were significantly related to soil pH, nutrient availability and vegetation communities, while bacterial community abundance was greatest at soil pH 6.8.
study found that soil pH, vegetation diversity, soil nutrient availability and relatively independent dominant bacterial community differences.
Mantel test results also show that the construction process of bacterial communities in the southern grassland soil is mainly an environmental screening process rather than a random process. The results of
results show that the bacterial community of grassland in the south is mainly dominated by the functionality of plants and the abiotic factors of soil, and the diffusion limitation caused by spatial distance has not been found in the southern grasslands.
the study was funded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences Strategic Pilot Special B (XDB15010200) and the National Natural Science Foundation (31470557, 31770563), and was published in the International Journal of Soil Squire Sym and the Study of The Land Santology in The Sr.'
