, 2012, the European Food Safety Authority publicly solicited relevant scientific data on lignite, but after several risk assessments, no data were available on lignite toxicity and developmental toxicity. Therefore, the European Food Safety Authority believes that lignite as a food additive safety can not be assessed. At present, its inclusion in the list of food additives is not supported by relevant scientific data, so it should be removed from the list of food additives.Zhejiang Hangzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau here to remind the relevant fruit and its processing products production enterprises, further clarify the relevant EU regulations on the use of additives, strictly control the fruit harvest for surface treatment of food additives use management, to ensure the smooth export of products to Europe.
