Lithuania is one of 11 EU member states that already get 20% of
their energy from renewable sources.
The Commission will provide financial support
to clean electricity producers in Lithuania through taxes paid by end-users.
As part of the plan, the Lithuanian government also announced that it would reduce electricity taxes
by up to 85% for energy heavy industry if they could show a power intensity rate of 20% or more.
