On the morning of June 1st, at the construction site of the Jiuquan-Hunan ± 800 kV UHVDC transmission line project located in Shuiyuan Town, Yongchang County, with the final inspection, crimping and tightening of the conductor by the power construction personnel, the conductor exhibition operation officially began, marking the prelude
to the construction of the Gansu section of the Jiuquan-Hunan UHV Project.
The Jiuquan-Hunan ± 800 kV UHVDC transmission line project is the first UHVDC project in Gansu Province and even China to transmit new energy electricity, with a total length of 2413 kilometers
.
At present, 70%
of the construction volume of the project has been completed.
After the completion of the project, 42 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity can be sent to Xiangxi every year, which can effectively alleviate the pressure
of wind curtailment and power rationing in Hexi.
According to the relevant person in charge of the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company, with the in-depth advancement of the Jiuhu UHVDC project and the start of construction of the Longdong-Jiangsu UHVDC project and the Guangyuan-Longnan-Tianshui-Tala UHV AC project in 2016, Gansu Power Grid will form a large-scale transmission pattern of AC and DC hybrid power grid, and play an active role
in actively building the golden section transmission corridor of the Silk Road Economic Belt and promoting local economic and social development.
