The health-care sector will push for a change in service prices

Recently, the 21st Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society of Health Economics was held in Beijing. At the meeting, Wang Hesheng, deputy director of the National Health and Health Commission, pointed out that the three-doctor linkage is the key to deepening medical reform and is of great significance for improving the basic health care system, promoting the reform of public hospitals and the transformation of the health service model, improving the drug security supply system and promoting the construction of a healthy China. Li Tao, deputy director of the National Health Insurance Administration, said the health care sector will actively promote the reform of medical service prices and establish a dynamic adjustment mechanism for medical service prices on the basis of investigation and evaluation of the effectiveness.
Wang Hesheng said that with the gradual and in-depth progress of medical reform, the hierarchical diagnosis and treatment system is being formed, the three-level hospital gradually returned to the functional positioning of critical care, county-level hospitals and county leading role to play further, the number of primary medical institutions has steadily increased, family doctors contract services steadily advanced, reform in many areas have achieved significant results. We should continue to strengthen the three-doctor linkage, comprehensive reform and hospital management, and strive to make the people benefit, encourage medical personnel, and invest in ensuring sustainable and healthy development. Li Tao pointed out that in addition to promoting the reform of the dynamic adjustment of medical service prices, the State Health Insurance Administration will work to steadily raise the level of medical insurance payments, establish a dynamic adjustment mechanism for the medical insurance drug catalogue, continue to deepen the reform of medical insurance payment methods, and introduce a unified national medical insurance diagnosis sub-group, standards and norms.
