The Hong Kong Food Safety Centre detected salmonella 脷 a string of samples from mustard pigs

The Food Safety Centre of the Hong Kong Food and Environmental Hygiene Department announced on March 27 that a mustard pigstring sample had been detected containing the pathogen salmonella and that the Centre was following up on the incident.
spokesman for the Centre said: "Following up on a food complaint, the centre took the above samples from a food industry office in Mong Kok for testing.
results showed that salmonella was found in 25 grams of food samples, exceeding the 25 grams of ready-to-eat food samples in the Food Microbiological Content Guidelines.
spokesman said the centre was aware of the results of the above-mentioned non-conforming tests at the relevant offices and instructed the person in charge to stop selling the food immediately.
Centre has also provided food safety and hygiene education to its principals and staff and has asked the office to review and improve production processes and thoroughly clean and disinfect them.
spokesman said: "Salmonella infection can cause fever and gastrointestinal discomfort such as vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhoea.
can have a more serious impact on infants, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, and may even lead to death.
will continue to follow up on the incident and take appropriate action to ensure food safety and public health.
