Oil and Gas Online Houston, January 4 (UPI) -- The Indian Petroleum Corporation (IOC) has awarded a contract to McDermott International Inc., which will provide proprietary technology and catalysts for the IOC's new facility at the Barauni refinery in the Begusarai district of Bihar state and the 277,400 bpd Koyali refinery in Vadodara, in the western Indian state of Gujarat.
As part of the contract, McDermott will license and base engineering for the 200,000-ton/year polypropylene plant at the Barauni refinery and the 420,000-ton/year polypropylene plant at the Koyali refinery, both of which will produce a wide range of polypropylene products for the Indian and regional markets using Rums' proprietary Novolen process reactor and proprietary NHP catalysts.
