Nevertheless, the current situation facing the prevention and control of PVC mercury pollution and compliance with the calcium carbide method is still very serious.

At the meeting, Li Shousheng, President of the Petrochemical Federation, and the relevant leaders of the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that although great progress has been made in the prevention and control of PVC mercury pollution by the calcium carbide method , the next step is to continue to increase efforts and firmly implement the contract.

Zhang Xin said that the chlor-alkali industry is related to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, the Montreal Convention and the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
