Relying on the School of Chemistry of Sun Yat-sen University, the institute gathers the advantages of chemistry, chemical engineering, materials, pharmacy, energy and other related disciplines of Sun Yat-sen University, unites the Guangdong Laboratory of Chemistry and Fine Chemicals, the National Engineering Technology Research Center for Electronic Circuit Substrates, integrates the teaching team, promotes the development of interdisciplinary integration, cultivates high-level compound talents, and promotes the original innovation

Gao Song, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Sun Yat-sen University, serves as the chairman of the academic committee of the institute, and Chen Xiaoming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, serves as the president of the
