From Intrafish on June 17, the International Commission for the Exploration of the Ocean (ICES) recommended that by 2022, the quotas for barents sea cod and haddock should be cut by 20%
    .

The International Fisheries Research Center recommends that when the Norwegian-Russian Joint Fisheries Commission (JRNFC) management plan is implemented later this year, the catch of cod in 2022 should not exceed 708,480 tons
    .

ICES said this is a 20% reduction from the 2021 recommendation, which is 885,600 tons, partly due to the decline in inventory
    .

For haddock, the International Fish Research Institute recommends that the total allowable catch (TAC) in 2022 should not exceed 180,003 tons, which is 22.
6% lower than the recommended amount of 232,537 tons in 2021
    .

The Norwegian-Russian Joint Fisheries Commission (JRNFC) usually makes a final decision on quotas in October
