    Recently, the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) published a summary
    of new guidelines for vaccinating patients with rheumatology and musculoskeletal disorders (RMD).
    The new guidelines expand the indications for certain vaccines in patients with wet and musculoskeletal disorders (RMD), provide guidance on drug stewardship at the time of vaccination, and discuss safe approaches
    to live attenuated vaccines in patients taking immunosuppressive drugs.

    Indications expanded

    *A "strong" recommendation means that the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks and that almost or all panelists agree with the recommendation; A "conditional" recommendation means that the risks and benefits are comparable or uncertain, and only a majority of expert members agree with the recommendation

    Drug management

    In addition, one recommendation that differs from current criteria is that newborns of mothers treated with tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors in the second or third trimester of pregnancy should receive rotavirus vaccine within 6 months of life, and newborns of mothers receiving rituximab should receive rotavirus vaccine after 6 months (pictured).
