Original title: The lifting of the ban on The Chinese beef market has brought business opportunities to the French livestock industry
In the near future, the news that China will gradually lift the ban on the import of French beef products has caused great reaction in France, especially in the livestock industry. Some practitioners said that China has a huge market for French beef for a long time, and the lifting of the ban will provide great opportunities for the development of French livestock.
It is understood that in 2000 the outbreak of mad cow disease crisis in Europe, in order to avoid the spread of the epidemic, China's General Administration of Quality Inspection and the Ministry of Agriculture on March 27, 2001 ordered a ban on the import and sale of food, including Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Bi, Lu and other 13 European countries based on beef, beef tissue and organs. In 2015, the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) gave France a "negligible risk of mad cow disease" certification, marking the French mad cow disease prevention work has reached the international advanced level. This lifting of the ban is also in response to the application of the French side, on the basis of full demonstration and evaluation to implement.
As one of the beef-rich countries, France values China's huge beef consumption volume and market potential, so the gradual lifting of the ban after 16 years will undoubtedly inject a dose of "strong heart" into the development of French animal husbandry. The French Association of Meat and Livestock Professionals points out that the re-release of the Chinese beef market will bring huge business opportunities to France, which is highly valued by French livestock practitioners. At present, the French side is actively coordinating with the Chinese side on specific operational details such as the audit of the health systems of the two countries and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.
The French media is also highly concerned about this, the French Echo pointed out that China is currently the world's largest beef importer, after the United States, the world's second largest beef consumer, its consumption volume and potential are huge. At the same time, with the development of urbanization in China and the improvement of people's living standards, the purchasing power of food products, including beef, has been directly driven, and the demand for high-quality products is also increasing. However, with China's recent gradual release of beef markets to Europe and the United States, France will face competition from Australia and Brazil in this process, must take the high quality of meat as the core competitive advantage.
