    In a speech at the opening ceremony of the Joint Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture, Food Security and Fisheries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on the Maputo Line, Augusta Maita, the Minister of   Oceans, Internal Waters and Fisheries of Mozambique , said that the SADC The body plans to achieve more than 350,000 tons of aquaculture production by 2030, and is expected to reach 100,950 tons by 2020 .
    To achieve this goal, SADC will formulate a regional strategic action plan to implement diversification of production methods and an integrated value chain .


     
      In his speech, Matar, on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Celso Correia (Celso Correia), stated that the implementation of the SADC aquaculture action plan is crucial because it helps eradicate poverty and solve food security issues.

      Mai pointed out that, considering the current low catches, all member states must work together to achieve the same goal and realize the potential of fisheries, especially the aquaculture industry, to obtain the greatest possible benefits

      Mai also stated that the establishment of a regional fishery monitoring, coordination, control and inspection center is a very good initiative.
    The center will be located in Mozambique to assist member states in dealing with illegal fishing, which requires the cooperation of all countries
