The document clarifies that the National Center for Rare Diseases should meet the following basic conditions: a tertiary general hospital, with prenatal diagnosis technology qualifications, and can provide genetic counseling; Relying on provincial and above rare disease medical quality control centers; Carry out multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment (MDT) of rare diseases on a regular basis, and there are ≥ 15 MDT teams related to rare diseases routinely operated in outpatient clinics; In the past 3 years (subject to the time of ethical review), the hospital has participated in 30 clinical trials of new drugs for rare diseases≥, including 1≥0 projects led by the team leader or international multi-center clinical research in China
.
The document points out that the National Medical Center for Rare Diseases should have complete clinical departments and medical technology departments, establish a complete multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment system for rare diseases, master the key technologies for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases, and provide rare disease diagnosis and treatment services
throughout the life cycle from fetuses, children to adults.
